DIY Christmas Sugar Scrub

IMG_0175

We had our office Christmas party this week and I really wanted to bring a hostess gift. I didn’t have a ton of money to spend so I knew I was going to go the DIY route. I had just recently watched an on-line class about using Young Living Essential Oils for DIY gifts. I took to Pinterest and found a great ‘Wake-Up Lemon Body Sugar Scrub” (But for the life of me I can’t find it now!)

I will tell you Lemon is my FAVORITE YL EO smell! The thought of starting my morning with a citrus smelling sugar scrub almost makes me want to jump out of bed on these colds morning-Almost. I thought about doing a lemon sugar scrub, but at the last minute I opted to make a Christmas Peppermint Scrub. It smelt so good, I wish I would have doubled it to keep some for myself!

Materials Needed:
* Glass bowl
* Spoon
* 1 1/2 cup Sugar (I used regular white sugar)
* 1/4-1/2 cup Coconut Oil
* Essential Oil (Christmas Spirit would be a great one to use)
* Mason Jar
* Gift Decor (optional-if giving as a gift)

Instructions
1) In a glass bowl mix in sugar and coconut oil and mix well. (Note: the site I was reading said to use 1/4 cup coconut oil. This wasn’t enough to hold onto the sugar well, so I kept adding coconut oil in. I probably ended up with just under 1/2 cup)
2) Add in essential oils. Depending on which oil you are using will determine how many drops you use. I used about 20-25 drops of peppermint.
3) Spoon mixture into a mason jar.
4) If giving as a gift decorate.

Have fun and Enjoy!
